You can put this solution on YOUR website!
-----------------------------
passing through point (4,5) and having a slope of 4. Write in point slope form and standard form...
-------------------------------

Understanding is necessary.

------------------------
passing through point (h,k) and having a slope of m. Write in point slope form and standard form
------------------------

One could begin finding for the point slope form first.
m=%28y-k%29%2F%28h-x%29
m%28h-x%29=y-k
y-k=m%28h-x%29-------the point-slope form equation, no matter the given values

y-k=mh-mx
y%2Bmx=mh%2Bk
mx%2By=mh%2Bk-------------this is in form of Ax+By=C.

You were given a specific point on the line, and slope. Plot the point, and use the slope to spot other points and draw the line!

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
You can plug what is given directly into point-slope equation formula.

y-5=4%28x-4%29
your point-slope equation

Simple algebra steps
y-5=4x-16
y=4x-16%2B5
y=4x-11 which shows you that y intercept is at -11. Enough to draw the graph.

You can put this into 4x-y=11, again very simple algebra.

.

In his post,  @josgarithmetic made a fatal error,  which leads him to wrong
final equation as the answer.

The error was that he incorrectly wrote the slope equation for point (h,k) and slope m.

He wrote it in the form   m = %28y-k%29%2F%28h-x%29,   while the correct form is   m = %28y-k%29%2F%28x-h%29.

Therefore,  hist post is toxic,  and my advise to a reader is do not touch it
and do not consider it seriously.

For the solution,  use the correct post by @timofer.
