Hi
Question States:
saidhari bought a tosster oven for $75.
This price was 1/4 off the last price 'L'
OR  %283%2F4%29L+ = $75
L = %284%2F3%29%2875%29 = $100

Wish You the Best in your Studies.

let the last price be x
if he bought a toaster oven for $75 and this price was 1%2F4 off the last price, we have
75=%281%2F4%29x
75%2A4=x
x=300
the last price was $300

but if this price was 1%2F4 off the last price could mean that original price was marked off 75% or 0.75, we have

75=0.75x
x=75%2F0.75
x=100

75=p-p%2F4, p the price before the mark-off.

%280.75%29p=75
p=75%2F0.75
p=100
