You can put this solution on YOUR website!

an equation of the line perpendicular to 5y=x%2B3+that passes through (8,6)
5y=x%2B3+ ....solve for y
y=%281%2F5%29x%2B3%2F5+ -> a slope is 1%2F5
the line perpendicular to given line will have a slope negative reciprocal
m=-1%2F%281%2F5%29=-5

using point slope formula we have
y-y%5B1%5D=m%28x-x%5B1%5D%29.........substitute m=-5 and (8,6)
y-6=-5%28x-8%29
y=-5x%2B40+%2B6
y=-5x%2B46-> the slope intercept form of this line
