Learn to understand and use the point-slope equation form for a line.

Starting with y-3=34%28x-%28-8%29%29 in point slope form, simplify it and solve for y in terms of x.

Something is wrong with the way you posted or wrote the exercise. There is a 3 at the end of one line and many spaces, and then 4 at the beginning of the next line. What is really the slope you are given?

Find the equation of the line that passes through the point (-8,+3) and has a slope that is 3
4
assuming that given slope is m=3%2F4
equation in slope-intercept form will be:
y=mx%2Bb.......substitute slope and given point
3=%283%2F4%29%28-8%29%2Bb...........solve for b
3=-24%2F4%2Bb
3%2B24%2F4=b
b=12%2F4%2B24%2F4
b=36%2F4
b=9
your equation is: y=%283%2F4%29x%2B9
