traffic flowing in the directions indicated. The flow rates along the
streets are measured as the average number of vehicles per hour.
i) Solve an appropriate system of linear equations to
determine the unknown flow rates.
ii) Is it possible to close the road from A to B for
construction and keep traffic flowing on other streets?
Justify your answer.
iii) Suppose all the streets (from A to B, B to C etc.) are
bidirectional, leaving the other constants, as it is along
with the direction, how would you formulate the system
of equations?
