Question 1134704: Two cars started from the same point but travelled in opposite directions. The faster car travelled 15 kilometres faster than the slower car. After five hours the 2 cars were 575 kilometres apart. How many kilometres per hour did each car travel? Found 2 solutions by Boreal, Alan3354:Answer by Boreal(15235) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! cars travel x and x+15 km/hr
Their combined speed is 2x+15 km/hr and in 5 hours go 575 km
so 10x+75=575
10x=500
x=50 km / h and x+15 is 65 km / h
