Question 1134089: Write the point slope form of the equation of the line with the given properties:
Through (-1,-5), slope =9
If someone could just lay it out simply I would be able to understand it. My text does not show a layout, therefore I am confused.

You could start from definition for slope of a line.
That is, for two points (x,y) and (-1,-5), vertical change divided by horizontal change is supposed to be 9.

Now put this into the form that you need.
