8x + 2x = 6 + (-1), or
10x = 5. It implies x = = = 0.5.
Next substitute the found value of x into equation (1). You will get
4*0.5 + 4y = 3 ====> 4y = 3 - 4*0.5 = 1 ====> y = = 0.25.
Answer. x = 0.5, y = 0.25.
Check. 4*0.5 + 4*0.25 = 3 ! Correct !
