Question 1078318: The connection between the degrees of a celsius and fahrenheit thermometer is that x F(degrees)=(9x/5 +32) C(degrees)
What number of degrees celsius is the equivalent to 86 (degrees) fahrenheit?
I presumed that x would be replaced by 86 and then I multilplied out the fraction of 9x/5 and multiplied 32 by 86. The answer I got was -4. It seems the answer is 30 (degrees) but I'm stumped. Any help would be gratefully appreciated

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
.
Write it as

F = %289%2F5%29%2AC+%2B+32,

and EVERYTHING becomes clear to you IMMEDIATELY / (instantly).

I should not explain more, so I become silent.
