Question 105198: Hello out there,I need some help with some tough problems,the first one is,Which of the following points are solutions to:2x-3y<0 and x+y>4 (2,3),(0,1)or(1,4).The next one is,Determine whether the system has one solution,no solution,or infinitely many solutions:y=2/3x and 2x-y=-4.The third one is,State whether the system is consistent and independent,consistent and dependent,or inconsistent:x+y=4 and 2x-y=-7.And the last one is,State whether the system is consistent and independent,consistent and dependent,or inconsistent:4x+2y=8 and 2x+y=1.Thanks to whoever can help.

You can put this solution on YOUR website! Which of the following points are solutions to:2x-3y<0 and x+y>4 (2,3),(0,1)or(1,4).
You need to replace the x and y with the points given and see which one solves both equations;
2(2)-3(3),0
4-9<0
-3<0 - yes
2(0)-3(1)<0
0-3<0
-3<0 - yes
2(1)-3(4)<0
2-12<0
-10<0 - yes
All three are solutions
========================
The next one is,Determine whether the system has one solution,no solution,or infinitely many solutions:y=2/3x and 2x-y=-4.
You need to graph, and when they are graphed you see they cross at one point, so they only have one solution

======================================================
The third one is,State whether the system is consistent and independent,consistent and dependent,or inconsistent:x+y=4 and 2x-y=-7.
Again you need to graph and if they cross at one point- consistent, the same line- Dependant, parallel lines- inconsistent. These lines cross at one point, so they are consistent
And the last one is,State whether the system is consistent and independent,consistent and dependent,or inconsistent:4x+2y=8 and 2x+y=1.Thanks to whoever can help.
Same rules as the other, these lines are parallel, so they are inconsistent

(It is only (2,3) and (1,4)- since (0,1) doesn't equal x+y>4 = 0+1>4 FALSE
