Question 1049890: What is the slope of the line that has an x-intercept of -4 and y-intercept of 6?
Answer by Cromlix(4381) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! Hi there,
Slope/ Gradient = y distance over x distance
Slope/Gradient = 6/-4 = 3/-2
Using (0,6) or (-4,0)
I will use (0,6)
y - b = m(x - a)
with m = 3/-2 and(a,b) = (0,6)
y - 6 = 3/-2(x - 0)
y = 3/-2x + 6
or
2y = -3x + 12
Hope this helps :-)
