Question 1017281: Bridget eats 1 banana and 5 pretzel rods and her calorie app tells her she consumed 657 calories. Her friend eats 1 banana and 5 pretzel rods and her app says she consumed 656 calories. The girls want to know how many calories are in each food. Write a system of equations for this problem and solve using the substitution method.
I tried x + y = 6
And x + 5y = 657
That doesn't seem right though!

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
You can not determine the calories in each food
from information given. All you can determine is
that the apps give different calorie counts for
the same food. There is probably an error in the
problem.
