You can put this solution on YOUR website!
write an equation of the line parallel to the line given by 3x-4y=12
Parallel lines have the same slope, put the equation into slope intercept form
3x - 4y = 12
-4y = -3x + 12
y has to have a coefficient of 1 and be positive, divide equation by -4
y = 3%2F4x - 3
slope = 3%2F4
:
and having the same y-intercept as the line 5x+3y=6.
put equation into the slope/intercept form
5x + 3y = 6
3y = -5x + 6
divide equation by 3
y = -5%2F3x + 2
y intercept is 2
:
Write an equation with slope of 3/4 and an intercept of 2
y = 3%2F4x + 2
