Question 128233: I need to help my daughter with this problem: A pool is rectangular, 100 feet long and 35 feet wide. There is a fence 10 feet away from the pool edge that surrounds the pool. What is the length of the fence?
We drew it out, but can't figure out how to calcuate the extra length used to match the corners up. Hope you know what i"m saying.

While finding the amount of seed needed to plant his three square wheat field, George observed that the side of one field was 1 kilometer longer than the side of the smallest field and that the side of the largest field was 3 kilometers longer than the side of the smallest field. If the total area of the 3 fields is 38 kilometers, then what was the area of each field???
