You can put this solution on YOUR website!
x%5E2+%2B+y%5E2-+2x-6y%2B+9=+0
=> %28x-1%29%5E2+%2B+%28y-3%29%5E2+=+1
So, centre of given circle, is (1,3) and radius 1.
Let centre of required circles be (a,0), radius given = 4
Draw figure joining centres and applying pythagoras theorem, we get,
%281-a%29%5E2+%2B+3%5E2+=+%28r%2BR%29%5E2
=> a%5E2-2a%2B1%2B9=%281%2B4%29%5E2
=> a%5E2-2a-15+=+0
=> a = 5 or a = -3
So, centre of required circles are (5,0) and (-3,0)
And equations are:-
%28x-5%29%5E2+%2B+y%5E2+=+4%5E2 and %28x%2B3%29%5E2+%2B+y%5E2+=+4%5E2
=> x%5E2%2By%5E2-10x%2B9=0 and x%5E2%2By%5E2%2B6x-7=0
