Question 801796: im doing IGCSE math and im now revising the co-ordinate geometry chapter, but im not sure how to solve for average speed . for example i have a graph showing the distance travelled by a train over a two hour journey and it asks to find the average speed for "A" to "B" ... Answer by Edwin McCravy(20055) (Show Source):
Divide the TOTAL distance traveled by the TOTAL time. You may need to find
the straight line distance between two points. If so, use this formula:
d = √(x2-x1)²+(y2-y1)²
to find the straight line distance between the two points (x1,y1) and (x2,y2).
