You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Given two points (-2,18) and (-14,4), you can calculate the slope (m) of the line passing through them by:
m+=+%28y%5B2%5D-y%5B1%5D%29%2F%28x%5B2%5D-x%5B1%5D%29
m+=+%284-18%29%2F%28-14-%28-2%29%29 evaluate.
m+=+%28-14%29%2F%28-12%29
m+=+1.666
m+=+1.7
Your answer is correct!
Can't help on the second question because I don't know what "percal" is.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
(-2, 18) and (-14, 4)
slope = (y2 - y1)/(x2 - x1)
slope = (4 - 18)/(-14 - (-2))
slope = (4 - 18)/(-14 + 2)
slope = (-14)/(-12)
slope = 1.2

Answer by scott8148(6628) About Me  (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website!
the change in the y value (rise) is -14 (4 - 18)

the change in the x value (run) is -12 (-14 - -2)

the slope (rise over run) is ___ (-14) / (-12) or 7/6 ___ 1.2 to the nearest tenth
