To solve this problem and answer all questions, you need know
the rules of rounding.

For these rules, read from your textbook or from numerous web-sites,
for example, from this one

https://www.factmonster.com/math-science/mathematics/rounding-numbers-rules-examples-for-fractions-sums

In short,

If the number you are rounding is followed by 5, 6, 7, 8, or 9, round the number up.
Example: 38 rounded to the nearest ten is 40

If the number you are rounding is followed by 0, 1, 2, 3, or 4, round the number down.
Example: 33 rounded to the nearest ten is 30

So, I will start answering first your question, and will leave the rest on you.

    (1) The range is [8.5,9.5). It starts from 8.5 inclusive and ends 9.5 exclusive.

Regarding your second question, as written and printed, it is nonsense,
showing that you do not read what you post.

The height of a person can not be 1.75 cm.

Your writing really upsets/afflicts/distresses me.

THEREFORE, at this point I will stop my explanations.

Answer by math_tutor2020(3817)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!

The rule of this site is to post one question at a time.

I'll do question 1 to get you started.

A line segment is measured to be 9 cm long, when rounded to the nearest whole number.

The smallest length possible is 8.5 since it rounds to 9
Something like 8.49 would round to 8
Same goes for 8.499 and 8.4999 and so on

There technically is no largest length since we could have...
9.49
9.499
9.4999
and you get the idea. We slowly approach 9.5 but never actually get there.

If L is the true length, then
Any L values in that interval will round to 9 when rounding to the nearest whole number.
