You can put this solution on YOUR website!

the equation of the line, in standard form, that passes through (2, -4) and has a slope of 3%2F5
the standard form of a line is in the form Ax+%2B+By+=+C
first use point slope form of equation:
y-y%5B1%5D=m%28x-x%5B1%5D%29...plug in given data
y-%28-4%29=%283%2F5%29%28x-2%29
y%2B4=%283%2F5%29x-2%283%2F5%29.....both sides multiply by 5
5y%2B20=3x-6
-3x%2B5y=-20-6
-3x%2B5y=-26->the standard form of a line

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
y-y%5B1%5D=m%28x-x%5B1%5D%29

Where %28matrix%281%2C3%2Cx%5B1%5D%2C%22%2C%22%2Cy%5B1%5D%29%29%22%22=%22%22%28matrix%281%2C3%2C2%2C%22%2C%22%2C-4%29%29

and

m=3%2F5

y-%28-4%5E%22%22%29=expr%283%2F5%29%28x-%282%29%5E%22%22%29

y%2B4=expr%283%2F5%29%28x-2%5E%22%22%29

Multiply both sides by 5 to clear the fraction:

5%28y%2B4%5E%22%22%29=5%2Aexpr%283%2F5%29%28x-2%5E%22%22%29

5y%2B20=3%28x-2%5E%22%22%29

5y%2B20=3x-6

Add -20 to both sides:

5y%2B20-20=3x-6-20

5y=3x-26

ADD -3x to both sides:

-3x%2B5y=-3x%2B3x-26

-3x%2B5y=-26 <--the other tutor left it this way, but standard form
                     requires that the first term be positive.

Divide through by -1 to make the term in x positive:

3x-5y=+26
