Question 1161004: Hi,
I need help with this question please.
A swimming pool is 45m long and 9m wide. The perpendicular depth at the deep end is 4m and at the shallow end is 1.2m, the slope from one end to the other being uniform. The inside of the pool needs two coats of a protective paint before it is filled with water. Determine how many litres of paint will be needed if 1 litre covers 15m².
Thanks

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
.

I just answered you yesterday, saying

There is no such a notion/conception as a "perpendicular depth".

There is a notion/conception "depth", instead, as one single word.

Its meaning is the distance from the calm water surface to the bottom, measured vertically down.

Can you read and understand the meaning of my words ?

Comment from student: Sorry but that is not the answer I’m looking for. I’ not asking for a meaning.
I’m asking for a calculation. You just gave me the meaning and not the calculations for the answer.
Let’s just say that perpendicular depth is wrong. But my point is how do you get the answer by basing on the given numbers.

My responce : Just write your post correctly.

That's all.
