Question 1143618: hi, i have a question that asks me to translate a shape 5 units up and four units right. the shape is an a 20x8 grid. i need to somehow show my answer. do i need to re write the chart completely as that would take a while or is there a proper way to do so.
PLEASE HELP
thanks,

I'm not sure I understand what you are supposed to do.
I take it you have some sort of figure on a 20x8 grid, and you are supposed to show the figure translated 5 units up and 4 units right.
If the figure is not simple, then that would, as you say, take a lot of effort.
If, by chance, the 20x8 grid show a coordinate system with an x- and y-axis, then you can do the translation by defining a new x-axis 4 units to the left of the original x-axis and a new y-axis 5 units below the original y-axis. Then the original figure, with respect to the newly defined x- and y-axes, is translated 5 units up and 4 units right.
Other than that, I don't have any suggestions....
