Point M is on segment AN,
Point N is one segment BM,
AB=18 inches and
AM:MN:NB=1:2:3. Find MN.
:
A - - M - - - - - N - - - - - - - - B
:
Let x = the multiplier
then
x = AM
2x = MN
3x = NB
therefore
x + 2x + 3x = 18
6x = 18
x = 18/6
x = 3 is the multiplier
Find MN.
MN = 2(3)
MN = 6 inches
