if a square pool has a side 5m
its area Ais : A+=+%285m%29%5E2 which is A+=+25m%5E2
if it is surrounded by a brick walk 2m+wide, we need to add this 2m to 5m and find the area B of square of pool with a brick togeter, which is:
B+=+%287m%29%5E2
B+=+49m%5E2
now we can find out what is the area of the walk if we subtract A from B.
+B+-+A+=+49m%5E2+-+25m%5E2
B+-+A+=+24m%5E2
so, the area of the walk is 24m%5E2
