You can put this solution on YOUR website! The idea is to isolate the unknown w to one side of the equation--doesn't matter which side.

8 + 18/w = 14
Subtracting 8 from both sides:
18/w = 6
Multiply both sides by w:
w(18/w) = w(6)
18 = 6w
Finally divide both sides by 6:
3 = w
