so the two negatives will give you a positive,
1%2F5%2B2%2F7, then use a common denominator
+1%2F5=7%2F35 and 2%2F7=10%2F35
so 1%2F5%2B2%2F7=7%2F35%2B10%2F35=17%2F35 and 17/35 is the simplest form.
