Question 247533: Hi there. I'm in seventh grade Algebra 1 and I was kind of confused on a hw problem. If, in an inequality, there are two numbers and a negative variable (e.g. 4<-2x<12) am I supposed to change the number's side's inequality once, or change both of them when dividing -2 into 4 and then again for the 12?
Did that make sense?
What I'm trying to say is, how do I switch the inequalities? Do I only change the first one when I'm dividing 4 by -2 and then the second when I'm dividing 12 by -2? Or should I switch both when I'm dividing 4 by -2, and then both again when I'm dividing 12 by -2?
Grazi!
