A few brackets would help a lot.

The first case:

Mult the equation by 2 and you have:
2a = bc%5E2

divide both sides by c%5E2
%282a%29%2Fc%5E2 = b

The 2nd case:
a = 1%2F%282bc%5E2%29
Multiply both sides by 2bc%5E2
a%2A2%2Ab%2Ac%5E2%29 = 1
