Add 6x to both sides
6x + 34 > 4
Subtract 34 from both sides
6x > 4 - 34
6x > -30
divide both sides by 6
x > %28-30%29%2F6
x > -5
:
Check solution x > -5, let's say x = -4
34 > 4 - 6(-4)
34 > 4 + 24
34 > 28; which is true
:
However if you try it with x = -6, it will not be true as you would expect
