You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Solve the following inequality. Write the answer using interval notation.
(x-2)/(x+5)≤0
---
Solve the equality:
x-2 = 0
x = 2
------
To solve the inequality:
Draw a number line.
Plot x = -5 and x = 2
---
That creates 3 intervals on the line.
Check a value from each of the intervals to see where the solutions are.
----
If x = -10 you get: -/- < 0 ; false
If x = 0 you get: -/+ < 0 ; true, so solutions in (-5,2]
If x = 10 you get: +/+ < 0 ; false
----
Solution: -5< x <= 2
