and this is what I got.. Is it right?
7 - 10z + 4 > -11z + 5
11 - 10z > -11z + 5
11z - 10z > 5 - 11
z > -6

{z ∈ R | z > -6}

Suppose 7 is NOT part of the inequality, we have:
10z + 4 > -11z + 5
11z + 10z > 5 - 4
21z > 1
z > 1/21

The first one is spot on. Given what you wrote for the problem, the second one is right too. The only thing I question is the actual problem you wrote for "the 7 is not part of ..."

You started with:

Then you said lets deal with it eliminating the 7. The thing is, you eliminated the 7 AND the negative sign in front of the 10z term.

Given the conditions you stated, I would have written:
