when you add these two equations together, you should see that the x's will be crossing each other out. -3x+3x=0!!!
so now we only have to deal with the y variable. -2y+y=-y
so -y=7+5
-y=12
y=-12
now lets substitute into one of the equations to get x.
3x-2(-12)=7
3x=7-24
3x=-17
x=-17/3
ok look... we got an answer but we got the wrong answer. you probably typed it wrong so can you check it and post it on later.. i will be more than happy to solve it.
