When i do my problem and its a less than problem (<) i always get the same number that its being less than by. for example one of my problems says this 3x+9<18 and I got that x=3. Therefore the problem would be 3*3+9<18 when 3*3+9=18. Answer by vleith(2983) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! You are close. But not quite correct
So x=3 is NOT an answer. All values of x that are "less than three" work.
You're on the right path with the algebra. But don't swap the < into an =.
