SOLUTION: t/3-t/2 > 3/4 I got 12*(4/12t-6/12t> 6/12) 4/12t-6/12t> 6/12 -2/12t> 6/12 -2/12t*-12/2 > 6/12*-12/2 t> -3 Am I doing this right????

Algebra ->  Inequalities -> SOLUTION: t/3-t/2 > 3/4 I got 12*(4/12t-6/12t> 6/12) 4/12t-6/12t> 6/12 -2/12t> 6/12 -2/12t*-12/2 > 6/12*-12/2 t> -3 Am I doing this right????       Log On

Question 164209: t/3-t/2 > 3/4
I got
12*(4/12t-6/12t> 6/12)
4/12t-6/12t> 6/12
-2/12t> 6/12
-2/12t*-12/2 > 6/12*-12/2
t> -3
Am I doing this right????

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Almost.
Two things to fix.
1. 3/4=9/12 and not 6/12.
2. Multiplication/division by a negative, in an inequality, changes the direction of the sign of the inequality.
Substitute this correction and change the direction when you multiply by the negative.

.
All the other steps are correct.

Remember you can always check your answer by choosing a couple of points and verifying the inequality.
