mountaineers are debating whether to take the shuttle or to rent a car for Php450 plus Php50 per kilometer. Assuming
that the mountaineers will share the cost of the car and they want the least expensive method of transportation, how far
away is the mountain if the choose to take the shuttle service?

When I read your post, one question arises in my head, which has no answer after reading the post.

When the mountain climbers take the shuttle, they use it
one time for the way to the mountain and another time for the way back.

I am asking, because their way back may happen several days later,
so it is unbelievable that the shuttle will wait for them . . .


In my view, without saying it explicitly, the problem is posed in a very bad manner,
and is more similar to a puzzle than to a normal Math problem.
