You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Solve Inequality: 2y^2 < y+1
----------
Solve equality: 2y^2 = y+1
2y^2 - y - 1 = 0
(2y + 1)*(y - 1) = 0
Then change to inequality:
(2y + 1)*(y - 1) < 0
Since the product is < 0, the signs of the 2 factors must be different, one + and one negative.
===============
2y + 1 < 0 ---> y < -1/2
y - 1 > 0 -->=-> y > 1
============
Or,
2y + 1 > 0 ---> y > -1/2
y - 1 < 0 --> y < 1
=====================
By substitution,
2y + 1 < 0 ---> y < -1/2 and
y - 1 > 0 -->=-> y > 1 do not work.
===============
---> -1/2 < y < 1
