You can put this solution on YOUR website!

the vertex formula: f%28x%29+=%28x-h%29%2Bk where h and k are x and y coordinates of the vertex
f%28x%29+=+x%5E2+-+12x.....complete square
f%28x%29+=+%28x%5E2-12x%2Bb%5E2%29-b%5E2....take half of the x term coefficient for b
f%28x%29+=+%28x%5E2-12x%2B6%5E2%29-6%5E2
f%28x%29+=+%28x-6%29%5E2-36
so, 6 and -36 and vertex is at:
(6,-36)

Write the function in standard form.
The standard form of a quadratic equation is ax%5E2+%2B+bx+%2B+c+=+0
f%28x%29+=+x%5E2+-+12x in standard form +x%5E2+-+12x=0

You want the vertex formula, and it is this: matrix%281%2C3%2C+x%2C+%22=%22%2C+-+b%2F%282a%29%29
Use this to find the x-coordinate of the vertex, or the axis of symmetry. Then use this x-value in the given equation to find the y-coordinate.
You will then have your x and y-coordinates of the vertex.
