Question 1017895: how do I write the given intersection: [-11, -6) upside down U [-9,-4) as a single interval? And How do I convert an intersection to an interval in general? Answer by Fombitz(32388) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! So the first set is all points between -11 and -6, including -11 but not including -6.
The second set is all points between -9 and -4, including -9 and not including -4.
The intersection looks at all of the points they have in common.
So it looks the two sets share the points between -9 and -6, including -9 but not including -6 since it's not a member of the first set.
[-9,-6)
