Question 888286: 2.2 During the weekend of study the teacher gives the class several difficult problems. One of the problems asked the learners to list a set of 5 values in which the mean, mode and median were the same number. The following were given as a guideline:
• The lowest number is 5
• The range is 7
• Only the number 9 is repeated
2.2.1 List the correct numbers in ascending order.
**NOTE: I completed 2.2.1 ... I need help with 2.2.2**
2.2.2 Only 40% of the class attempted the question. Of these learners who attempted the question, 3 learners got the question correct. How many learners were in the class?

Question 888771: This is a quadratic word problem.
A concrete bridge has an arc shaped like a parabola underneath. The top of the bridge is 4m from the surface of the water and the arch (at the center) is 3m from the water. The width of the arc at water level is 10m.
What is the equation of the arc?
How thick is the concrete 2 meters from the center of the bridge?
I do not understand where these measurements are placed so I can not create an equation. A quick reply would be great as I have a summative tomorrow.
Thank you.

Question 888785: A movie theatre can accommodate a maximum of 450 moviegoers per day. The theatre operators have determined that the profit per day, P, is related to the ticket price t, by P= -30t^2 + 450t -790 .
a) what ticket price will maximize the daily profit?
b) what ticket price will allow them to break-even (profit will be zero)?
For a) I completed the square and converted the quadratic equation in to vertex form because ''k'' will represent the maximum daily profit. I got 7.5 as an answer. I am unsure whether it is correct.
for b I calculated the x intercepts using the quadratic formula and got 2.03 and 12.97. I am not sure whether this is correct either.
Thanks

Question 889104: The amount of rice cake mix to be used varies directly with the number of people who partakes of this food. Suppose that it takes 7 cups of mix to serve 10 people.
a.) Write the function expressing the number of cups of cake mix in relation to the number of people.
b.) How many cups of cake mix must be prepared for 50 people?
c.) About how many people can be served with 12 cups of cake mix?
These are my unsure answers:
For the letter b, i've tried solving it like this:
= 7/10=x/50
= 10x/10=350/10
= x=35
For letter c, I tried this:
= 12/7=x/10
= 7x/7=120/7
= x=17.14
So basically i don't understand letter a.
