Question 820486: I need to solve the following word problem:
There are 7 whole numbers in a group. The least number is 15 and the greatest is 33. The mean is 23. The median is 22. The mode is 19.
Here is what I got so far:
15 - 19 - 19 - 22 - ? - ? - 33
I know that there are two possibilities: 23 and 30 - 26 and 27
I know that because the some of all seven numbers should be 161 and the some of the two missing numbers is 53. There are only two possible combinations that could give me 53.
Is there another way of doing it? How do I know which one is the right answer?
