Question 220655: The ratio of Ed's car was 5:2 at first. After Ed gave 30 cars to Pete, they each owned an equal amount of cars. How many cars did they have altogether.
I solve the problem but the answer seem wrong when I retest. here is my equation:
5:2
5x - 30= 2x (because Ed gave 30 cars to P : 5x-30)
5x -2x = 30
3x= 30
x= 10
Then I retest x=10 but the number was wrong 50:20 but Ed gave 30 cars to Pete.
Please help,. Thank you so much. Brian.
