You can put this solution on YOUR website!
If a = x^5 and b + 2y^3 express the following in terms of x and y
Substitute for "a" and for "b"::
a) 4a^2b^3 = 4(x^5)^2*(2y^3)^3
----
= 4*x^10*8y^9)
= 32x^10y^9
=============================
b) (12a^5b^8) / (6a^3b^2)
1st: Simplify the fraction to get::
= (12/6)(a^5/a^3)(b^8/b^2)
-------
= 2a^2b^6
-------
2nd: Substitute or "a" and for "b"::
= 2(x^5)^2*(2y^3)^6
= 2x^10*64y^18
---
= 128x^10y^18
