It takes Joan 4+times longer than Jane to file reports, so Joan can do all work alone in 4x minutes, then in 1 minute she can do 1%2F%284x%29 part of work
If they work together 24 minutes, then Jane does 24%2Fxpart of work, Joan does 24%2F%284x%29=6%2Fxpart of work.
In 24 minutes they did all work, all work is 1.

24%2Fx%2B6%2Fx=1 Multiply both sides by x

x=30
