Teacher has explained these sorts of problems in the past, but I just don't understand any more what they're trying to tell me. Thanks for any help here.
Oh, and I can solve algebraic things easily enough, eg 2x + 5 = 72 or inequalities, w/e... the problem lies in getting to that point. Answer by robertb(5830) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! Let x = 1st whole number. Then x+1 = next whole number.
"5 times the larger" is 5(x+1). The smaller number is x, so the rest of the story is . Think you can manage from here.
