You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Mr. Herman had $125, and Mr. Chandra had $80.
After each of them had paid for a concert ticket, Mr. Herman had six times as much money as Mr. Chandra.
How much money did Mr. Chandra have left?
:
Let x = cost of the ticket
125 - x = 6(80-x)
125 - x = 480 - 6x
-x + 6x = 480 - 125
5x = 355
x = 355%2F5
x = $71 is cost of ticket
then
80 - 71 = $9, Mr C had left
:
Check solution in the original equation
125 - 71 = 6(9)
