Question 216713: Please check my answer to make sure it's correct
A playing field is 250' in length. The width is one-fourth the length plus 26'. What is the width? Let n = the width
The steps I took:
(250 / 1/4) + 26 = n
250 / 1/4 --> 250 x 4/1 = 1000
1000 + 26 = 1026
n = 1026

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
A playing field is 250' in length. The width is one-fourth the length plus 26'.
What is the width? Let n = the width
:
I think you got off on the wrong track here;
:
It say,"The width is one-fourth the length plus 26'"
Length is given as 250'
:
therefore the equation is
n = 1%2F4*250 + 26
:
n = 62.5 + 26
:
n = 88.5' makes a little more sense
