Jessie takes two uber rides. The first ride cost $32 to go 15km. The second ride cost $55 to go 112km.
What is the rate that she is being charged?
Thank you

The difference in distances is 112-15 km = 97 km.
The difference in the cost is 55-32 = 23 dollars.
The rate of charging is the ratio
= 4.217391 kilometers per dollar with 6 decimal places.
Or, if you prefer the rate of charging in dollars per kilometer, then take the reciprocal value
= 0.237113 dollars per kilometer.
Solved.
Notice that I do not round the rate to two decimals: I keep it with more than two decimals.
There is NO NEED to round the rate to two decimals - because the rate of charging IS NOT the cost.
But when the counter in the uber car will show the cost of the ride,
it will calculate the cost rounded to two decimals of a dollar (to the cents).
