Question 26620: This is a word problem I am struggling with: You've been offered a part time job at a local retailer. You are being offered two different pay options:
Plan A: $18 an hour with overtime (above 20 hours/week) paying time and a half.
Plan B: $20 an hour with no over time.
I need to determine the algebraic formulas for plan A(x),(x being number of hours worked each week)and plan B(x) for a continuous domain of [0,40].
I have managed to figure out the plots for the graph but can't seem to wrap my head around the actual Algebraic formulas.

Question 26621: I have a question on transformations of graphs. I seem to have a little difficulty in finding the plots for graphs that are 'stretched' or 'shrunk'. For example: f(x)=x^2 is the basic quadratic function
g(x)= 2(x-1)^2+3 is the transformed function.
Do I solve g(x) by inserting the results from f(x) in for x into g(x) equation or do I solve g(x) by inserting the original x I used to solve f(x)? Also, is it correct to use BEDMAS and solve inside the brackets, then exponents then multiply?
Thanks a bunch

Question 26644: I am helping my son prepare for his algebra exam and have a couple of questions. 1) What is the difference between undefined slope and a slope of 0? 2) What is the range of the function y = -2X(Squared) + x when the domain is {1, 3, 5,}? I believe the answer to the second question is a simple as inserting the domain number for x and coming up with an answer of {-1, -15, and -45} but I am not sure.
