Question 104632: This is from 4.7 Challenge: Skills and Applications
Questions 5 & 6
In 1992, 7.6 million music videos were shipped and in 1996, 16.9 million were shipped.
Write an equation you can solve to find the year that the model predicts 25 million music videos will be shipped.
Then solve the equation graphically. Interpret the result.
Things I know: rate of change is 2.325 million per year.
Tried this equation:
25 =2.325x +7.6 (knowing all numbers in millions)
so to graph I got y=2.325x - 17.4
but now I have a negative graph and I know that is wrong.
So I am thinking what I got is x=years later, not the year. How do I get the year in one equation instead of 2?
Thanks for any help.

Question 104718: Hi, I have been struggling all morning with a problem. Here it is:
The length of a rectangle is 1 less than twice its width. If the width is 3 more than one-seventh of the perimeter, find the dimensions of the rectangle.
While I can come up with a value for P which is a term, not a value, I cannot come up with any actual dimensions, and my answer will not proof out. I have approached the problem different ways, such as width=x and length=2x+1 (using the 2L = 2S = P standard equation for finding perimeter), and w=1/7 P - 3, etc. for length, but I cannot come up with an actual answer. Thanks in advance.
