Question 1131430: I have been asked to use a graphing calculator to approximate the location of the local maximum on the graph of y=x^3+12x^2-105x-3. values must be correct to the nearest hundredth. I feel like I am doing something wrong. I have a TI-84 Plus C Silver Edition calculator. I've tried to zoom in and I can't quite see the bottom nor top of the graph. It makes it hard to satisfy the question, because I can't see it. I've never done something like this before, so it's...frustrating.

Question 1131573: What is the range for the piece wise function of 2x+4 where x ≥ 1 and
-x^2 where -3 ≤ x < 1?
I found that the domain is [-3,1], and points on the graph are (-3,-9),(-2,-4),(0,0),(1,6), and (2,8). However, because one of the pieces is quadratic, the -x^2
part of the function curves downward at 1 with an open circle at (1,-1).
I am unsure whether the range should be [-9,-1)∪[6,∞) or [-9,0]∪[6,∞).

Question 1131579: How do I transform the equation y=√x to shift left 4 units, down 3 units, and reflect over the x-axis?
I tried to do this and got f(x)= -√(x+4) -3 but the answer key I have says it is f(x)=√(4-x) -3. Can you explain what I did wrong?
