Question 461801: I'm trying to find the solution set for the following problem:
2(x-2)< 4 or 4 less than or equal to 2(X-2)

I simplified both sides first;
2x-4 < 4 or 4 less than or equal to 2x-4
2x<8 8 less than or equal to 2x
x< 4 x greater or equal to 4
I'm confused at this point and guessed the solution set of:
(-infinite, 4) U (4, infinite)
I appreciate any feedback to get me on the right track. Thank you.

Question 461776: Hello,
I'm trying to solve the following word problem:
A plane travels 560 miles in 1.75 hours flying with the wind. The
return trip against the same wind takes two hours. Find the speed of
the plane and the wind.
I tried setting up the problem like this
d=r*t
560=2(r-c) 560=1.75(r+c)

560=2(r-c)/2 560=1.75(r+c)/1.75
280=r-c 320=r+c

320=r+c
280=r-c
-----------
600=2r
r=300
This is where I got stuck. I'm unsure how to solve for c. Where did I go
wrong? Thank you for your help.
